A musical luminary with Scarsdale roots — and the son who carries it forward. Jay Shulman, son of famous cellist, composer and arranger Alan Shulman, will narrate a presentation about his father’s career in music featuring excerpts from recordings, and discussing his creative life in Scarsdale. The Shulmans once lived at the historic Haubold Powder House in Greenacres on Fountain Terrace. Grand Italian fountains were the Schulmans’ playground until the Bronx River Parkway was widened in 1967. Jay Shulman, like his father, is a cellist, and a 1967 graduate of Scarsdale High School.
